I think that anyone who has been investing online for more than a year now knows about the famous Genius Funds. Genius Funds is actually the first program that got me interested in online investing. I still remember my first investment payment to Genius Funds, was in September of 09 and I was a little scared as I didn’t want to lose my hard earned money. After my first few payments and referral commissions I soon began to trust them a little more and by the end of November I had invested $700. I was looking at some very high daily percentages and some high referral commissions. Genius Funds was making a real name for its self and I got in late. Genius Funds soon became more of a bank account for most people than an investment option.

I too was being blinded by the high success of Genius Funds. There was even a time where they offered money to take and complete a small 5 minute survey. I believe they were paying investor $10 directly into their Genius Funds account. Genius Funds was great but nothing good last forever and by March 2010 Genius Funds had some unexpected down time right after I made my last withdrawal request. Genius Funds went up and down for a few days and then went down and never came back. Some good news was that some investors got there last withdraw including me.

People began to forget that Genius Funds was an investment site and began to invest all their savings. The closing of Genius Funds was a hard hit for many people, I personally heard stories of people losing more than $10,000 in Genius Funds and I am sure there were higher ones.

I myself didn’t really lose any money; I was actually in profit when Genius Funds went down. I am think full that I was able to practice some restraint near the end or I might have been one of those tragic cases. People held out hope for as long as possible, clanging on to the news that Genius Funds was just having some technical problems. In fact there were several rumors going around about what happened to Genius Funds, some more true than others.

There was even a report that someone had invested mob money in the program that had to be returned to the investor, because of an investigation. Genius Funds never really made a real announcement on why they were closing other than technical difficulties. Genius Funds lasted for about 2 years and those who got in early made a small fortune, but those who got in late or didn’t invest smartly lost big time. BY: NICK
